She served as a member of an Autism Task Force where she co-authored a certification of competency for teaching children with autism. As an educational consultant she is frequently called upon as a guest speaker for national organizations. Joan developed many teaching aids over the course of her classroom experience and makes these materials available to others through her company, Greenhouse Publications.
